How to Use 'Jump Breaks' for your Posts

Hey All! In the interest of keeping our main page simple to browse, from now on, please posts your work using a jump break. Follow the link for more instructions!

In case you haven't figured it out, that was a jump break!  The jump break icon is located in the "New Post" formatting options, and looks like a ripped piece of paper (it's right next to the alignment icon). It will place a dotted line and gray bar in your post. Everything above the line will show up on our main page, and everything below it will stay hidden, and can be read when someone clicks "Read More."

What you'd like to post above the break (what people will see on the main page) is totally up to you! You could do an excerpt, the first few lines, a summary, whatever you think will entice readers! Just keep it around a paragraph (4-5 sentences or less) in length. Then you can post the entirety of your story below the break.

If you have any questions about the jump breaks and how to use them, feel free to comment here and we can discuss it. We're still in the early stages of the blog so please bear with us! Thanks guys!

- Kate
